Korean  Picnic, Street, and Snack Food Recipes

In the late 70's and throughout the 80's  I was often stationed in Korea. I would frequently go off base and visit the open market areas in Kunsan, Suwon, Songtan, and Seoul.  The fresh food sellers would always draw me in with the sheer variety of fresh vegetables and seafoods offered by the multitude of vendors. Mixed in among these were the small stalls and carts that sold soups, snacks, and quick meals for the shoppers as they made the rounds of the markets for their shopping. The aroma of the cooking foods was amazing, and some of the best Korean meals I  have eaten were found in these  tiny, no frills  places.

You can find a huge variety of foods offered up from street vendors, market stalls, and small no seating take away only food shops. Kimbap, hot bungeoppang, hoddeok, spicy fried noodles, ddeokbokki, mandu, and more.

In this section you will find recipes for some of these popular foods.
